The king drinks

Engraving after Jacob Jordaens, 39.4 x 58,4 cm.
Underneath in latin with a moralistic content, extract of the book Ecclesias cap. 31.
Above the head of the king the inscription in latin tells us that nothing looks more insane than an inabriate.
Signed: “Iac. Iordaens pinxit, cum privilegio, Paul. Pontius sculpsit.”
Final state with N°5 added in the lower right margin.
The preparatory drawing is in the “Fine Arts Museum of Antwerp”.
